While it may seem obvious, the better your sleep patterns are, the less stressed you’ll feel. Figure out how many hours of sleep per night you truly need to function, and aim to get at least that. Most adults need between 7-9 hours of sleep each night, but every body is different.
On the same token, focus on how you are releasing your energy. Make sure to take breaks and relax at various points throughout the day, but also consider scheduling daily workouts. They don’t have to be focused on weight loss or muscle toning, they can just be a way for you to release some energy and take a break.
If you don’t have a good work-life balance, you’ll start to feel stress in your work and your personal life. Make room in your schedule to spend time with your loved ones, practice your hobbies, clean your house, or cook dinner – even if you have to actually schedule it in your calendar.
One of the best but least-practiced ways to reduce stress is to accept the things you cannot change. If you have too many tasks, but they are all necessary, accept it instead of complaining about it. Take your stressful energy and use it to get the job done, instead of wasting time and procrastinating, which eventually will cause more stress.
